Infosys Written Test on 16th April 2006 Bangalore

Hey guys ..
I attended the infosys test on 16 th Bangalore.
Nearly 400 appeared for the test n 14 were selected for the interview.
I am giving the some questions which I remember.

1) their 20 balls each of color red,blue,green n yellow. wat's is the minimum no. of ball u hav to take out so that all r of different color.

2) a man who got parvir chakra in 1948 died when his age was 1/39th the year of his birth. when was his year of birth..?

3) was from previous paper.

4)long puzzle type their 4 junior n 4 senior n v hav to form a committee Ethics Committee,Recreation Committee n Sport Committee. Some conditions where Given.

5)a man n his son where traveling upstream n after 10mile the son saw tat his father hat has fallen when they started. he told his father about this after 10 min. n ........(from previous paper).

6) don't remember

7) in 100kg potato their was 99% water . After drying it ,it has 98% water. What's the weight of potato now.?

8)a puzzle ..u have form a committee of vice president , president , treasure,....(from previous paper.

English Section was very easy..

1) One comprehension
2)Usage of words(GRE).
3) Find the incorrect sentence.
4) Blanks.

About the Interview.

It was on the other day at Electronics City.

Interview was very cool.It lasted for around 30 min.

they ask me regarding my family.
Gave me a Puzzle to solve from the paper.
Ask me to 4 uses of pen apart from writing.
Y u want to do the job as your family is having a business.
Wat where u doin since a year.
Y u have chosen Bangalore for a job.

the results vil b declared after 2-3 weeks.So m waiting for it. If anyone hav given the interview n if u get the result do mail me at jitengupta@yahoo.co.in

1. 100 balls are there .. 20 red 20 blue 20 yellow 20 green 20 black...you have to take out balls blindly...
find the min. no. of attempt to take out 2 balls of same colour.
ans. 6

2. shakuntala devi Puzzle to puzzle U Tennis World Cup problem....only change is in place of 30 there were 100 team.
ans. 99

3. shakuntala devi Puzzle to puzzle U pigs and ducks Qs no. 62

4. shakuntala devi Puzzle to puzzle U Faulty watch problem Qs no. 63

5. Diamond Qs ( 5 thief came 1 after another... 1st 4 took 2 more than half of the remaining no. of diamonds...and 5th thief had nothin
left to take away.) ans. 60

6. a) 2 6 12 20 .... only check the even terms... common diff is in AP ans is 30

b) 3 6 13 26 33 66 ... ans is 73 or it may be 63 also both is satisfyin the given condn.

7. 1 very long but easy qs was thre...
i dont rem. the full question...
some name startin with letters a b c d e f were thre...the qs was related to who likes poetry and who despise poetry...
thre was 4 sub-Question..answer is
1) option a
2) option b
3) option d
4) option c

8. 1 question was like this.. some 4-5 children were thre.. 1 of them broke windows glass.. they were arguin tat we didnt do this... and
some 1 else has done this. ...
ans. is sally is culprit
and gail was speakin truth...

age of man x/39----eqn1

where x year of birth

Since we know year of death-age year of birth

> 1948-x/39 x(using eqn1)

solving above eqn

x year of birth 1899.3 or 1899 >age of man 1948-1899 49 yrs

Hi .....

Thanks a lot to all ppl who posted the questions and answers and shared their interview experience and opinions...This site helped me a lot to get through infosys test and interview.Most of the questions were from the previous question papers.....So plz do go thru all the question papers b4 attending the test...
