Risk: When dealing with software testing/ project management Risk is that element that can be detrimental to the project. It's an area that must be tested more thoroughly and must identify error-prone components within specific applications which must be tested more rigorously.

Question for Michael Werdin: how is risk detrimental? Without risk how can your pursue reward? And is your definition not redundant? It is cyclical in that you repeat yourself many times: tested more thoroughly and tested more rigorously are the same thing. If your role is a software tester then shouldnt you be rigorous and thorough regardless of the presence of risk?
