let the sum of ages of ppl apart from the father be k. fathers age = favg age = (k+f)/6.after 10 years, sum of ages of other ppl = k+50, baby's age=0avg age = (k+50+0)/6k=50.=>he died at 60.

Before 10 years the  total member in my familly is 6.
and avg age is x sum of ages is 6x.
so after 10 yrs the sum were increased by 50 coz father died.
now newly born baby maintain the number in family as same as earlier.
the age of the baby is 0.
but the sum of ages got increase by 50 it maintains the average as same.
so father's age is 50.

The solution for your problem:

Lets take the age of father 10 yrs ago as x.
Then rest of the 5 members 10 yrs ago as y.

Now the mean age 10 yrs ago is = (x + y)/6 --(1)

and now as father is dead and all the ages of the other 5 members has risen by 10 each.

So mean age now =(y + 5(10))/6 ---(2)

Equating (1) and (2): (x+y)/6 = (y+50)/6

Be solving the above, we get x = 50.

So present age when he died

= x + 10

= 60 yrs.
