Calculate number of Chickens Analytical question

Husband says if we sell 75 chickens from our farm we can feed the chickens for 20 days and if we buy 100 chickens we would finish the feed is days sooner. how many chickens were there?

Ans:300,60days

suppose x is the no. of chickens.

x-75=20days
x+100=19days( 1 day sooner)

now as the no. of chickens increases,days will decrease, tht is in the inverse relation
so,

(x-75)/(x+100)=(19/20)
x=400
