Master test plan is the doccumaent in which each and every functional point is validated.

Test case docuument contains test cases, Test case is  the perception with which probability of finding the defect is more.

Master plan is the document showing the planning for whole of the project i.e all the phases of the project whereas the test plan is the document required for only testing people.

There are circumstances when companies produce a Master Test Plan and any number of Test Plans depending on the functional areas and testers responsible for these areas. 

A Master Test Plan is a comprehensive document that describes the overall test strategy of a project.  Test Plans divide the project into logical functional areas and every tester responsible for their areas creates their own Test Plan. 

A Master Test Plan is reviewed by cross-functional groups and then placed on a share so stakeholders can learn and understand the entire test strategy.  Test Plans are reviewed by the Test Manager or Test Lead (sometimes peer reviews) in order to solicit feedback and improve individual test processes.

Master test plan is the main document in which all the details of the project is specified for all modules like if facebook is a project then it covers all site components but in test plan we specifies only some modules of project and description of test cases and allocation of work like in facebook project we will work on profile menu thats a module of whole project.
