| a is the time taken by A to cross the 400m For condition 1 a+7 is the time taken by the B to cross 376m (i.e 400m-24m). Hence speed of B is 376 / (a+7). For conditon 2 a+10 is the time taken by the B to cross 400m. Hence speed of B is 400 / (a+10).
