3 will appear 20 times in 100 (3.13.23.30.31.32.33.34.35.36.37.38.39.43.53.63.73.83.93)

similarly 3 will appear 60 times in 299

61 time is 300 henace 300 pages

i think the book has 503 pages.as 3 comes 12 times in 100 if we divide 60 by 12 then we get 5 that means 500 pages.and for 61 3's its 503 pages.

Between 1 to 100 you get 19 nos. having 3 (like - 3 13 23 30 31 32 ........39 43 53 ......93)So 19*3 57 times we get nos. having 3 in 100*3 pages.....where last page no is 293...then comes ......300 301 302 303 ......which are next 4 pages to give 57+4 61 pagesSo answer is 303 pages...I hope i have explained it thoroughly........regards Gauri

my answer is 303 pages.because there are 20 3's in 1-93.likewise 20 in 94-186 and so on.thus total no of pages are 303
