At the fair i bought 6 pineapples and 2 jackfruits for rs.15.if i could have bought 4 more pineapples for rs.14 than jackfruits for rs.9.what would be the price of eax\ch?
can any one give da approach for this?
pineapple cost rs.1.75,
jackfruit costs rs.2.25

let

pineapples x

jackfruits y

6x+2y 15...............(1)

10x+2y 23..............(2)

now solving these two we get

x(pineapples) 50 paise

y(jackfruits) Rs.3

each pineapple costs 2Rs and each jackfruit costs 1.50Rs

Hi The correct solution is

6x+2y 15-------------(1)

14/x-9/y 4-----------(2)

by solving these 2 equations we get the right answer.
