40% employees are male if 60% of supervisors are male so for 100% is 26.4%so the probability is 0.264

it doesn't matter whether the employee is supervisor or not..
so 40% of emp are male and hence 60% are female..
so probabality= (40C1 + 60C1)/ 100C1=1.. hence the answer..

the question is framed like that to misguide you.we have to find out the probability that random choosen employee is male or female.i.e if we choose at random 100% it is male or female so probability is 1

i think the probability for it being a male employee is 40% as the supervisors are considered as separate but in case the condition is not so then the answer is 40c1/100c1. that's what i think

We were asked for the probability for a male or female, there will mostly be only 2 genders working there - male and female, so for either male or female it is just 1
The ans is 1

Given that in that company there are 30 % are supervisor so 70 % are employees.

again given that 60 % of the supervisor are male so male supervisor in that company will be 18%.
now out of 70% employees 40% are male so percentage of male employees is 28%
so the total percentage of male in that company is 28+18=46%
so the probability of choosing a male is 0.48 and that of female is 0.52

Many of them said answer is 0.4 but it s correct only when they ask what us
the problem of choosing male, but in question they have clearly given male or
female, so at any point of time if we choose an employee either it should be male
or female, so the prob s 1. This is correct answer
