The possessive pronoun its indicates "belonging to it"  where as its with an apostrophe is used to contradict its --it's so ans is b) contradictory

A: IT's: contraction (short Form) of the sentence, IT IS.

Example, It is a car. This means an affirmation. Am confirming that it is a car

B: ITS: a possessive  adjective.
example , I have a car, its colour is blue. This means the car posses a blue colour.

The two words are not the same, and is a common mistake in English.
