average speed=total distance/total time

so answer is 20+15(total dist)/(1/3+1/2)total time in hrs=

          35*(6/5)=42miles/hr

Total Distance Travelled = 15+20 = 35 milesTotal time taken= 20+30 = 50 minsfraction of an hour = 50/60 = 0.833.'. speed = 35/.833 =42
