The size of Variable Length Record changes from Computer to Computer, so there is no specific limit.

It is 32767, irrespective of VSAM or non VSAM. In case of VSAM you will have to give no SPANNED while DELETE-Defining the cluster. IF any doubts you can verify creating in mainframes.
