The odd one is 40. The series is 48-1(47)-3(44)-5(39)-7(32)-9(23)-11(12). Hence the third number should have been 39 and not 40.

differenve of concutiive order nos. are
1 3 4 8 9. 11.
Replace 40 by 39 leads to a sequence of
1 3 5 7 9 11..
