   8/6 + 6/8 + x/12 = 3

   24  [8/6 + 6/8 + x/12 = 3]

   4(8) + 3(6) + 2x = 72

    32 + 18 + 2x = 72

    50 + 2x = 72

    2x = 72 - 50

    2x = 22
   
   Divide both sides by 2 to get the "x"

     x = 11
