In order to maintain the core objective of this website and a level of sanity in its content, We have outlined few basic points to be noted while you interact with geekinterview.com and its community members.

FAQ #1 How to register?

1. If you are a new here you need to register

(Registration is quick, easy and free)

2. After registering your account you need to log on to geekinterview.com
You can login here http://www.geekinterview.com/login.html

In case you have already registered earlier and not able to login
You need to provide us the email id and or the user name with which you have registered with us.
In the absence of these information we will not be able to verify your account.
If you cannot recall any of these, you need to register with us again.

FAQ #2 How to ask a question?

There are two methods to ask questions
1. Via geekinterview.com home page
2. Via. geekinterview.com/talk forums

For both the cases you need to login first.

1. To ask question via geekinterview.com home page
Let navigate to appropriate category from geekinterview.com home page
After navigating to the category page
You may find sub-categories links (if any) at the top of the page
You can further navigate for more specific sub-category
On all category and sub-category pages, you will find 'ASK Question' button on left top and also at the bottom center, you can click on 'ASK Question' Button and post your question,
Your question will appear on site after approval from geekinterview.com admin / support staff.

2. To ask question via geekinterview.com forums
Here also you need to choose suitable category from http://www.geekinterview.com/talk forum home page
In each category page you will find 'Add Question' button on top right of the category page
Click on that, New page appear with title and subject box,
Type your Question and submit it

FAQ #3 What are the benefits of registeration

There are host of benefits that comes along when you register with geekinterview.com
Primiary, When you register, log-on and post question, you will get an intimation e-mail each time an answer is posted by our members/visitors to your question.

In addition to questions you post, you will have options to subscribe questions of your interest even if it is not posted by you. i.e., suppose you find some questions from C Programming Language particularly interesting and would like to follow up with them then you can individually subscribe to those questions. You may further note that you will always have the option to unsubscribe for any question at any point of time.

Secondly you will get the previlige to download exam-simulators, popular e-books and other important and useful resources that are uploaded on our website

Thirdly you will be eligible to take part in our exciting online quiz competitions.

Fourthly you will be entitled to win Member / Contributor of the Month which is awarded every month to outstanding members.

Reporting a Question to admin

Each question will have an icon to its left corner (circled red in picture shown below), by clicking on this icon, members will be able to report a particular question to admin.

When "Report this question to admin" icon is clicked, new page opens as shown in below picture, here you can report the question to admin and also write few lines stating why you think the question is wrong or inappropriate or poor English or spam or any other reason. You can bring this to the notice of admin

FAQ #5 How to report an answer?

Reporting an Answer to admin

Just like each question, every comment / answer too will sport similar icon, circled red in picture shown below. By clicking on this icon, members will be able to report a particular comment / answer to admin.

When "Report this answer to admin" icon is clicked, new page opens as shown in below picture, here you can report the comment / answer to admin and also write few lines stating why you think the comment / answer is wrong or duplicate or inappropriate or poor English or spam or any other reason. You can bring this to the notice of admin.

NOTE: When you report a question or any answer, your information will be kept confidential and will not be revealed in general.

FAQ #6 How to rate an answer?

Rating an Answer

In addition to reporting a question and reporting an answer to admin, there is another option to rate each and every comment / answer as per your choice. Since you all know that geekinterview.com being a member driven open database, has several answers posted,  it will be more useful and more appropriate to rate the answers for the question under which it is posted. By rating the good answer as useful, it is possible to add value to the answer and thereby let other members and site visitors get more accurate and reliable information.  In the picture shown below, you can see "Is this answer useful? Yes | No" option provided in the last line of the answer - this is where you rate the answer. 

However please be noted that you need to login before you can rate any of the answer.  In the picture shown below, a message is shown when un-loged members or site visitors try to rate an answer.

FAQ #6 How to use Sorting option?

Sorting options are of 3 modes
Sort by Replies: Sort by number of replies (commented answers) for each question.
Sort by Date Added: Sort by date the question was asked.
Sort by Last Updated: Sort by latest comment/answer submitted.

There are 3 different types of subscription at geekinterview.com

1. Weekly Digest Subscription: This option is provided in geekinterview.com home page. You can subscribe to geekinterview.com weekly digest by submitting your email ID, You will received weekly summary of latest articles published at geekinterview.com including 'Learn' and 'Knowledge Base' sub-section.

2. Interview Questions - Section Based Subscription: This option is provided in geekinterview.com home page. You can subscribe Interview Questions / Tech FAQ's section wise. You will get email notifications for latest updates under the subscribed sections only.

3. Individual Questions Based Subscription: This option is provided for each and every question listed at geekinterview.com, By subscribing to individual question, you will get email notification whenever a answer is posted to the subscribed question.

FAQ #12 How to change email id?

1. Login at geekinterview.com using your username and password
2. After Login, go here Edit email & password.
3. You will find option to change your password and registered email ID. 4. Enter new email address, confirm the new email address and click on 'Save Changes' button. 5. If you wish to change your password then you have to enter your current password first and then the New password, after enter 'Confirm New Password' click on 'Save Changes'.
6. Your email ID / Password is changed.
