Adobe’s Meer Meer Application
Adobe Max has always amazed developers. Although it is only focused on what Adobe has done but also on what it plans to do, the “what it plans to do” part is always interesting.
Adobe has been one of the leaders of developing programming languages and pushing for different standards online, Adobe Max has practically become the pulpit of Adobe in informing the developers on what should be expected in a few months.
It is like an early Christmas present but could only be opened during Valentine’s Day.
The most interesting application being developed today by Adobe is an application called Meer Meer. It has a very cute name but packs with a very powerful feature. This application could be used by developers to test their website or online application.
Meer Meer will then render the application in different browsers and different Operating Systems (OS).
This powerful application is still on the works and although there is no date set for release, it will not be too long before developers will notice updates from Adobe regarding this application.
This application will run the application without any problem and will never require any prior downloads aside from Flash.
Adobe’s Meer Meer should be able to load the online application without any problem. Developers will just have to load the URL and expect versions to be loaded in no time.
The secret for this functionality is based on the fact that the versions of the URL will be automatically loaded in the server.
Online applications, whether configured for client or server side, will be pre-loaded in the server and will be redistributed in different browsers and operating system.
By using the server, Meer Meer should also enable developers to directly code on the application so that changes will be immediately implemented in the application.
Control of CSS will be another feature that was greatly stressed by Adobe for Meer Meer. Developers should be able to navigate the online application and control CSS like they are controlling a regular application.
Another useful feature of Meer Meer is its integration to Dreamweaver CS4. This latest version of Dreamweaver will enable developers with an Ajax based application interact with Meer Meer without any problem.
Those who are familiar with Dreamweaver should be able to interact with Meer Meer without any problem in making changes in their Ajax based application.
If you are not familiar with Dreamweaver, you can still interact with the application but you might have to deal with a lot of coding when you are planning to load an Ajax based application.
Meer Meer is still in its development and Adobe right now is piling up the browsers that are commonly used in Windows and Mac.
No word yet for Linux but it will be a possibility as the popularity of Linux has been boosted this year because of the number of UMPC being launched with Linux.
This application will most likely be licensed but it is a great investment for software and website developers to consider once the application is released.
