E-Trade buys J.P. Morgan's online brokerage for $1.6B

E-Trade has agreed to pay $1.6 billion in cash to acquire BrownCo, JPMorgan Chase's online brokerage, and expects the deal to bring with it $29 billion in additional assets to E-Trade.
