The answer is,
a)A started with smallest amount of money
b)B started with greatest amount of money
c)B had 93 initially

The problem can be solved using BACKTRACKING

          AFTER GAME-3   AFTER GAME-2   AFTER GAME-1     STARTING

A               40                      20                      10                       5
B                40                     20                       10                     93
C                80                     40                        108                   54
D                 16                    96                       48                      24
