lets sons age be S and fathers age be F TODAY SONS AGE IS HALF OF FATHERS AGE WE HAVE S= 1/2 F 10 YEARS AGO IT WAS 1/3RD OF FATHERS AGE S-10 =1/3(F-10) SUBSTITUTING ,F =2S IN THE ABOVE EQN WE GET S AS 20 THATS IS THE SONS PRESENT AGE AND THEREFORE FATHERS PRESENT AGE WILL BE 2S I.E 2*20 = 40 YR FATHERS PRESENT AGE IS 40
