on the commonalities and differences between agile methods and the Rational Unified Process (RUP): “At their root, the RUP and agile methods share a number of common values: the primacy of executable artifacts and the importance of growing software incrementally and iteratively are perhaps the two most interesting. […] Although this is a gross simplification, agile methods leverage and give guidance to the social dynamics among a relatively small set of developers, whereas the RUP address the interactions among a larger set of stakeholders.”
