A prompt is can be called as a Dynamic filter. Prompt is an end user object which allows the user in selecting the values to restrict the data returned from the DataBase.  A prompt can be developed in 2 ways.

1.
Manually i.e., Syntax: ?Parameter name?
2. From Tools menu: Build prompt page

Types of Prompts are:


Date prompt,

Time prompt,

Date and Time prompt,

Value prompt,

Generated prompt,

Text prompt,

Interval prompt,

Select and Search prompt
