let the age of b=x 
let the age of a = x-9 
then the equation is  
(x-9)=x 
after 10 years in a and before ten years in b 
new equation will be 
(x-9+10)=2(x-10) 
then  
the value of x =21 years 
and after 10 years will be 31 years
