BI is an emerging group of applications designed to handle a business‘s transaction data so that it can be analyzed in ways beneficial to company decision and operations In other words gathering, management, and analysis of vast amounts of data to gain insights to drive strategic business decisions for competitive advantageThe objective is to transform data into useful reports and sharing that information with people inside and outside the organization who need that information.The development of information that is conclusive, fact-based, and actionable. It includes such technology practices as data warehouses, data mining, OLAP, expert systems and knowledge management.
