RE: Universe CMS server Migration

If you are doing development offshore and then migrating the universe onto onshore then following recommendations.

XI Release 1/2/3

Migrate your development using import wizard. Create two connections one for your offshore database and one for your on shore database ( Production database i assume). When migrating the universe and universe connection using import wizard , CUID for universe and universe connection will remain same. And also this means that security will remain same as well.

It really depends on how you migrate from offshore to onshore. You may be able to solve the problem of migrating.

Regarding merging, does it mean onshore there is some development going on and offshore as well there is some development going on. If this is the case then you will have to replicate the work which onshore team has done or you will have to import onshore universe to your offshore repository and then do the offshore changes once again. There is no automatice merging of universes. Best practice is not to do nay changes in onshore universe and have your offshore univese exact replica of onshore.
