Answer: What approaches do you need when 2 companies merge?

This question needs further clarification.  Are you talking about an approach document or the project approach?  If you are talking about a project approach then the leadership team would determine during the discovery phase.  The analyst would then work with the business users or SME's to determine what the business needs are; from there the system features would be defined, then use cases developed, etc.
